Problems with Barbarians - 960 BC to 810 BC

Nantes is growing well but we need to increase its production - we shall have to sacrifice a Forest...
We also upgrade our Archer on the Dutch border to a Composite Bowman.
930 BC: We are escorting the Ottoman Trireme out of our waters....
when the Barbarian Trireme destroys one of our Cargo Ships - if we hadn't destroyed the Dutch Navy they could have taken care of the Barbarians...
We send the second Cargo Ship to Amsterdam instead of Marrakech - less lucrative but safer.
The first of two Warriors has arrived in London and we assign it duties in France.
We add a new Cargo Ship to the production queue in London and place it behind the second Warrior.
Western Europe at the end of our turn - we are now only receiving 6 Gold per turn....
Egypt and Arabia boring me with Friendship talk....
910 BC: We have nothing to do this turn because the Ottomans finish off the Barbarian ship.
Morocco now declares war on William - we've done all the work, Ahmad!!
900 BC: The damaged Trireme is sent home to protect our Whales hex while receiving repairs.
Nantes wants Furs now but I can only get them from Holland at the moment - no chance there....
Austria also becomes a friend of Arabia....nice.
The Trireme is repaired and our new Warrior is now protecting the Iron mine under construction.
The Bowman is now on our southern border with Spain. Isabella doesn't appear to have many ground forces - interesting :)
880 BC: Great, we can attack Holland again but we are not interested.
We decide to chop down the Forest South of Nantes.
870 BC: The Iron Working Technology has arrived and we select Writing followed by Engineering as the next Techs. With Writing we can build Libraries to combat illiteracy and speed-up research. Engineering will give us a third Trade Route.
We decide to export Whales to Austria - the extra Gold is a blessing :)
Our Statistics - at least we are not the weakest nation - somewhere in the middle of the pack.
Our Military has improved enormously but the Zulus have the largest - Russia and Holland are looking pretty good, too.
These two want me to go to war against Holland and Spain - definitely NO!
840 BC: The second Warrior has arrived in London we make it the city's garrison. The Cargo Ship is now being built and the Catapult has been sent to France. We shall send it to the Spanish border.
It arrives in 820 BC and next turn we put it on alert - will the Spanish attack?
Finally, our Bowman has arrived in Plymouth and we order a Trireme next.
That ends this post. We suffered a slight setback, which should have been avoided, but we are still on track. Cheerio :)
