We are at war again under favourable conditions - let's try some diplomacy ;)
Sweden first and it is good to declare friendship with Gustavus Adolphus.
Now Maria Theresa but she declines our invitation to join the conflict....
The Dutch Warrior has plundered our Wheat Farm - we return with a double-barrage....
....then we melee with their Trireme NW of Spain - let's say that we didn't lose.
1300 BC: A second round of combat sinks the enemy Trireme :)
The Pasture in Ireland has been completed so we move our Worker to the adjacent Marble hex.
We send a second Trireme to patrol off the coast of Norway and we discover another Dutch Trireme which we immediately engage.
Another Trireme joins the battle and it is not looking good for the enemy!
1290 BC: Masonry has been researched - good :)
My Trireme near France is promoted...
....and off the Norwegian coast we destroy the Dutch Trireme and we commence constructing a Marble Quarry in Ireland.
We select Construction to be our next Technology....
....and create a Trade Route from Nantes to Marrakech.
The situation at the end of my turn.
1280 BC: My three Triremes are given Boarding Party I promotion and are being sent to friendly waters so they can be repaired.
We agree to a Declaration of Friendship with Attila....
....but Isabella isn't too keen to be friends.
Western Europe at the end our turn and also the end of this post. The Royal Navy rules the waves at the moment - now we need ground forces to make an impression on the Dutch on the continent.
