A New Strategy - 710 BC to 640 BC

Although we were tempted to attack Spain we realized that it wouldn't do anything to weaken Holland. The capture of Madrid would label us a Major Warmonger and that is not advisable so early in the campaign. Holland is our prime adversary so we need to gain strength and weaken Holland at the same time. First we need to regroup our forces by sending a Swordsman to The Azores, clear the Barbarians from the island then build a city there.
We embark the Swordsman on the Spanish Border then move a Bowman to the vacated position.
Next turn we place the Bowman on alert and plot a course to The Azores for my Swordsman.
Things are looking good at the end of our turn and we have a plan :)
690 BC: Great, Holland ends their war with Morocco and The Zulus....
Shaka has just finished one conflict and wants to start a new one - not interested!
680 BC: Our Swordsman arrives on the island and next turn it assaults the Barbarian Brute.
We have received a new Trireme and it is assigned to defend a Whales hex. A Work Boat is placed on order next for the second Whales hex nearby.
660 BC: Our Swordsman attacks again - both units are weakened...
650 BC: Our Swordsman receives a promotion, (Drill I), then we place it in repair mode.
640 BC: Isabella, we are not at all intimidated by your two Spanish Warriors which are embarked in the Biscaya.....
We become friends with Ahmad of Morocco - good move :)
We open an Embassy in Marrakech in return for one Horse for 90 turns.
Hurrah, a new Social Policy and we select Mediocracy completing the Liberty branch. We receive a Great Person of our choice - a Great Engineer.
We place The Colossus at the head of the production queue in London....
....then we use the Great Engineer to Hurry Production the World Wonder :)
Next turn it will be completed.
More diplomacy small-talk - we have told Attila we shall support him against Persia in 10 turns but it is unlikely to happen....
That ends this post about a few very productive decades. Until soon :)
