Great! Philosophy has arrived and next we research Drama and Poetry - this all sounds a little boring but we need them to research Astronomy which allows ocean-going exploration = Caravels :)
Our Swordsman in Faro is back to full-strength so we place it on alert.
Our Worker is back in England where it begins to build a section of our Road from Plymouth to London.
Our Spearman swaps hexes with the adjacent Catapult....
....and our Bowman on the Spanish border is placed on alert.
Our Composite Bowman punishes a Dutch Swordsman for getting too near to one's Iron Mine.
The Front at the end of our turn.
140 BC: Our Worker has finished building a Mine on the Azores so we shall send it to the neighbouring island.
The Dutch Swordsman didn't heed our warning so our Bowman and Catapult bombard it.
Our Swordsman assaults the enemy but it is not enough to destroy the Dutch unit....
Our Spearman swaps places with our Catapult in Nantes and is placed on alert.
Another Catapult moves eastwards one hex and is set up for Ranged Attack.
Our Trireme in Fara harbour has finished repairs and is ordered to observe Dutch movements in the Western Mediterranean.
The Monument on the Azores has been built - a Temple is ordered next :)
That ends our turn. A Spanish Warrior is blocking the way for one of our Catapults. The plan is to move all three Catapults to within firing range of Utrecht.
130 BC: Good, the Dutch Swordsman didn't pillage one's Iron Mine - it retreated into Amsterdam instead. :D
In the North Sea we shuffle around our Triremes so that the second ship can now be repaired.
Our damaged Swordsman is placed in Healing mode.
We now move one's three Catapults forward - nice of Isabella to vacate the Hill/Forest hex :)
Good! William has decided not to fight - the intimidation strategy worked! We accept his terms and Utrecht is ours. :)
Attila wastes no time to swap Gold for Marble - we both receive +4 Happiness points...
Unfortunately one doesn't have enough Happiness to annex Utrecht so we create a Puppet State instead.
That ends this post. We have shown our peers how to deal with William. One doesn't give him cities - one takes them! Rule Britannia!
